This coming December, the Disney Cruise Line will officially launch its newest ship: The Disney Treasure. The latest addition to the Disney fleet is going to feature several new features. As the ship nears completion, Disney has continued to release updates on its construction.

Recently, Disney reported on the Treasure passing a major construction milestone. As of July 16th, the ship’s final stateroom was installed.

As Disney explained, the process of putting the rooms in place was a long and complex one. “Needless to say, the process of positioning all 1,246 rooms inside the ship was quite an undertaking! It began when each cabin was prefabricated at an off-site factory on a slow-moving conveyor belt. As the cabins moved down the line, different team members went to work building out various components of the rooms, from the plumbing to the furniture and everything in between. Once each cabin was completely outfitted, they were loaded onto semi-trucks and individually transported to the yard. From there, they were carefully lifted by cranes and slotted into position within the Disney Treasure.”

Along with the news, Disney also released a photograph of the new room, which compared nicely to the concept art seen at the top of this piece. As can be seen in both the concept art and the photo, each of the Treasure’s staterooms will feature “a fresh, natural color scheme and custom artwork” inspired by Disney and Pixar films.

The Disney Treasure will be themed to adventure, with a Grand Hall “inspired by the grandeur and mystery of a gilded palace which draws on inspiration from real-world Asia and Africa, as well as paying homage to Agrabah.” Several of the ship’s new offerings will include the Plaza de Coco rotational dining experience themed to the Disney/Pixar film Coco, and a trio of bars & lounges themed to fan favorite properties 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Haunted Mansion, and The Jungle Cruise.
