The New Problem Hitting Disney World Hotel Lobbies in 2025

It is hard to believe that we are already over halfway through 2024, and it’s time to start thinking about 2025 in Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

Disney recently announced that a new hotel perk would be offered to those staying at Disney World hotels starting in 2025. This new perk can help solve the “What do we do while we wait for our room to be ready?” problem on the first day of your trip. While this new perk is great, it may cause a problem in Disney World hotel lobbies.

In case you missed it, starting in 2025, those staying at a Disney World hotel, along with anyone listed on the reservation, will receive a free water park ticket on the day of check-in.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

The ticket can be used at either Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, depending on which one is open at the time of check-in. As a sidebar, we hope that the day will come again when both water parks are open during the summer, but anyway… this perk sounds great, right?

Well, there is one thing we feel people are not talking about enough. Once you arrive at your hotel, you will be able to check your luggage with Bell Services, and your luggage can be delivered to your room once your room is ready.

But if you are planning on taking advantage of this water park perk, you will need to make sure your swimsuit is out of your luggage and in an easy-to-get place.

Then, you will need to change into your suit before you go to the water park. Queue the hotel lobby problem. There are times at Disney World when it can just feel like everyone is checking in at the same time as you. And now, picture everyone trying to get ready for the water park and having to tear through their luggage to find their swimsuit.

And now think about how backed-up the line to the bathroom will be when everyone is trying to change. We can already picture the mess.

To avoid this problem, we suggest putting your swim gear in an easy-to-get place or packing it in a carry-on bag.

Then, as soon as you check your luggage, hop on a Disney bus and head straight to the water park.

Once you are there, you can use the changing rooms located at the front of each water park to get your swim gear on. This can help you avoid dealing with any back-up or delay of others in your hotel lobby who are also taking advantage of this new hotel perk.

We will have to wait and see how smoothly this new perk runs, as this is the first time Disney is offering this benefit.

Typhoon Lagoon

We think it is a great idea and a good reason to want to stay at a Disney World hotel, so long as your flight gets in at a decent time and you can head to the water park on the day of check-in.

Don’t forget that there are still plenty of other hotel perks for you to take advantage of now and in 2025! Disney World hotel guests get free transportation around the resort.

You can partake in Early Theme Park Entry and get to enter the park 30 minutes before the general public. 30 minutes may not seem like a lot, but you would be surprised to see that you could potentially squeeze in one to two rides before the park officially opens.

Those staying at Deluxe Resorts can take advantage of Extended Evening Hours. On certain nights of the week, a different park stays open past the park closing. The park tends to be very empty, and you can get to many attractions without having to wait outside in the heat of the day.

There are so many perks when you choose to stay at a Disney World hotel, and while we are excited about this new water park benefit, we can’t help but worry about the logistics.

  1. Will the buses go directly to water parks or to Disney Springs like they do now. It’s a bit of an inconvenience.
