If you’ve ever stayed at a Disney World resort, you know that they’re filled with activities to check out!

Not only does each hotel have a list of paid activities you can check out throughout the week, but they also have free offerings like Movie Under the Stars or trivia at the pool. And sometimes, we find fun little scavenger hunts around the Disney World hotels!
Recently, we took a visit to the Yacht Club Resort and spotted an adorable scavenger hunt themed to The Little Mermaid! This sign was posted on a table, so we went in search of Prince Eric’s adorable dog, Max.

It took us a few minutes of wandering around the main areas of the resort, but we found him! All you have to do is take a photo with Max and then show it at the front desk to claim your prize. What a cool activity for kids to do each day!

What’s the prize? Well, we got this adorable Max-themed button from the Cast Member at the front desk! You can add to it each day as you spot the dog around the resort.

This isn’t the only time we’ve seen scavenger hunts like this, though! Disney’s Riviera Resort has a Pascal-themed version of this search, and the Wilderness Lodge has one themed to Chip and Dale.

Also, you can hunt for Orange Bird at Old Key West and Hei Hei at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. There may be more than that, but those are the ones we’ve seen out and about! The characters chosen are usually slightly themed to the resort and typically not human characters.

So the next time you’re looking for something fun and free to do at your resort, be on the lookout for these character scavenger hunts! It’s a great way to spend a few minutes exploring and to get a free souvenir in the process. Not many things are truly free in Disney World these days, so that’s a definite perk!
