If You’re the First Person on These Disney World Rides, You’re Doing It WRONG

OK, we need to get real, people. If you happen to be among the first visitors in Disney World when the parks open (a.k.a. “rope drop“), you’ll be able to walk right onto rides with little to no wait. But there’s a right way and a wrong way to rope drop the parks.

There are just some rides that are NOT worth rope-dropping. Why? While the wait time may soar for rides like Peter Pan’s Flight and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, other ride wait times won’t reach more than 25–30 minutes all day. If you’re going to wake up early on vacation, you might as well be strategic about it!

So, what kinds of rides should you avoid first thing in the morning? Those less-popular rides, like the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland and Mickey’s PhilharMagic in Fantasyland. Both of these, for example, are shows that will run continuously throughout the day, so there’s no need to be among the first to ride!

Other examples include rides geared toward kids, like TriceraTop Spin at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If the attraction is slow, kid-friendly, or takes place inside a theater, odds are it’s safe to avoid first thing in the morning.
