We usually talk about how great the snacks are at Disney World, but you can’t sleep on Universal Studios!
Some of the most unique and tasty treats we’ve tried have been at Universal Orlando, but there’s one specific delight that has divided fans and caused quite a stir (there’s no shortage of controversy with this one). There are a number of ways to have this item and that’s what’s got fans in a tizzy! We’re talking about Butterbeer! Let’s dive right in!
No. You didn’t go cross-eyed. We’re talking about Butterbeer. You know that there are so many different versions of it that you can enjoy to your heart’s content. In fact, this past Spring, Universal introduced a new limited-time offering — the Butterbeer Ice Lolly!
Once you took a bite of it, you were treated to a butterbeer-flavored ice popsicle on the inside, and boy was it delicious! (Think a frozen solid version of a frozen Butterbeer and you’re on the right track.)
We loved this new version of Butterbeer and felt like it was a perfect treat to help cool us down on the hottest of days.
But enough about that deliciousness, we’re really here to talk about the fact that Butterbeer fans just can’t get on the same page as to which is the preferred version. For example, did you know that you can get the OG Butterbeer, Hot Butterbeer, and Frozen Butterbeer and they’re all different? We haven’t even mentioned Butterbeer Ice Cream yet either, but it’s among the favorites too.
The OG Butterbeer
Some of us say that the original Butterbeer just hits different. It’s the perfect amount of sweetness and butterscotchy goodness, no matter the weather.
Rain or shine, hot or cold — basically there’s never not a time for the GOAT.
Hot Butterbeer
Some of you are team Hot Butterbeer ride or die, and I respect you. I mean, the fact that it’s basically a hot creamy latte-type situation sounds straight-up magical.
Especially when you’re trying to pretend it’s not in the 90s all year round in Florida and you’re bundled up in your Hogwarts robe. (Like I said, I respect you). But who am I kidding? There’s A/C in Florida, so maybe this is actually a year-round drink? Who knew?
Frozen Butterbeer
Team Frozen Butterbeer is out here strong, repping this icy goodness like it’s their personal Patronus or house sigil.
They’re not wrong. Florida is HOT (like dragon’s breath) and you need something to keep you cool.

Speaking of the heat and trying to stay cool, we can’t forget about the Butterbeer Ice Cream team who just entered the chat. Who can blame them?
Isn’t ice cream just basically happiness in an edible form? And when you add Butterbeer to the mix…prepare for your mind to be blown.

One big advantage of frozen butterbeer is that you can sip with your straw as you walk along to the next ride/event/location and it won’t slosh, and it will stay cold longer. If I were there in winter, I would like to try the hot version, but in the summer, I am team frozen.
