A Magic Kingdom mainstay just changed its menu.

Menu changes happen often at Walt Disney World, with old favorites often disappearing and new bites debuting with regularity. Now, a large-scale series of changes just hit Sleepy Hollow at the Magic Kingdom, and we’re not sure how we feel about them.
Located in Liberty Square, this quick-service dining establishment allows you to fill the “hollow in your belly with a tasty treat at this quaint brick cottage by Cinderella Castle.” For years, the location has been known for “sweet waffle sandwiches or funnel cakes topped with strawberries and whipped cream.” While the menu is still full of mostly sweets, things have definitely changed.
The waffle sandwiches have been dropped from the menu, and replaced with 4 distinct Mickey Waffle and funnel cake platters. Our hearts are shaken! After the missing hush puppies and now the waffle sandwiches, we don’t know how much more of these missing snacks we can take.
You can now get a Mickey Waffle with Chocolate-Hazelnut Spread and bananas for $8.49…

…a Funnel Cake with Chocolate-Hazelnut spread, and bananas for $8.49, a Mickey Waffle with sweet-and-Spicy Maple Chicken for $11.49,…

…or a Mickey Waffle with Berries and Powdered Sugar for $8.49.
We tried the NEW menu at Sleepy Hollow (rip waffle sandwiches):

We tried each of these new offerings and were a bit conflicted on what we thought. We found the Mickey Waffles to have a spongey consistency that tends to get VERY soft, especially with the load of various toppings on top of them.

This in-turn leads to these new waffle offerings being much less convenient to eat than the previous waffle sandwiches. So, the restaurant that once offered arguably Magic Kingdom’s best grab and go snack options has turned into a somewhat messy option that requires at the very least a plate, and likely a seat, to truly enjoy.

These changes to Sleepy Hollow’s menu definitely change the way that many will enjoy food from the quick service restaurant, even if the food offerings themselves are just as flavorful as the previous offerings. Be sure to stay tuned to AE for further Disney World menu updates.

We are going to WDW in August and I was looking forward to trying the waffle sandwiches. Totally disappointed now 🙁
