A NEW Restaurant Just Opened at Downtown Disney — Get a FIRST LOOK Inside!

Have you heard the news? A new restaurant is open!

New Downtown Disney sign!

Downtown Disney is already becoming a hot spot for foodies with Marceline’s Confectionery is getting an upgrade and the three new Mexican restaurants that just recently opened. More restaurants are on the way, though, including Porto’s Bakery and Parkside Market. Now it’s time for a new restaurant to open — yes, it’s Din Tai Fung!

Recently, the restaurant revealed that it would soft open with a limited menu starting on June 24th, 2024 ahead of its grand opening later in July. Right before that announcement, we saw the construction walls come down…so we knew it was getting close!

Of course, we headed over to the restaurant on June 24th to check it out. The line was long to get in (and it was a very hot Anaheim day), but we made it inside!

When you walk in, you’re greeted by the massive and gorgeous bar area.

Then we walked over to our table. There is a huge wall of windows which is great for people-watching during your meal. Since it is so open inside, it does get LOUD. We could barely hear our server because of it, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Nice view…but it can get loud

Now let’s talk food! This is not the first Din Tai Fung to exist so we knew going in based on reviews of the other locations that this would be amazing food…and that assumption was correct!

To start, we ordered the Cucumber Salad. Just look at how this is presented! It’s made with crisp Persian cucumbers, cuts of mild Fresno chili peppers, and garlic all tossed together with drizzles of sesame oil and the signature Din Tai Fung chili oil.

We love the presentation

Sweet and Sour Pork Baby Back Ribs were next! These classic ribs are covered in the restaurant’s house-made sweet and sour sauce.

We also asked for an order of the Shrimp & Kurobuta Pork Spicy Wontons and wow, these pack a punch. These are served with the signature house spicy sauce and topped with garlic and green onion!
