Hi. Disney World regular here. I’ve stood in many lines. I’ve sat in many food courts. I’ve overheard a lot of…interesting advice. Not all of it is correct.
If you’re planning a trip to Disney World, there are some fundamental things you should probably know. What will the average wait times look like during your trip? What is Genie+? Where should you eat? Well, before you go asking random Disney World visitors, you should probably read this first.
First of all, don’t trust random strangers when you hear them talking about the wait times. We keep track of the daily Disney World wait times, and even WE can’t always predict random spikes or drops in lines. So when you hear someone say, “Oh, that wait times sign at Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway says 45 minutes, but it’s really more like a 25-minute wait,” do not trust them.
We’ve also overheard people give BAD advice when it comes to things like transportation. The Disney Skyliner, for example, does NOT go to Magic Kingdom. The Disney Monorail does NOT go to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Read the official Disney signs, and don’t ask a fellow guest; ask a Cast Member.
Here’s some more terrible advice we hear pretty commonly. If you see a long line at a quick-service spot like Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, you don’t HAVE to stand in line! We love to recommend mobile ordering your food instead (just use the My Disney Experience app!), yet we hear SO. MANY. people grumble about long lines at the food counters. There’s another option, people!

Best advice: Don’t go. We all need to stay away for a while, in order to put pressure on the current regime that is hell-bent on destroying every IP they have purchased, and pushing radical Postmodernist propaganda instead of the wholesome entertainment for the whole family that Walt envisioned. It not only has changed Disney from a beloved source of entertainment to a machine for indoctrinating its consumers into a disgusting radical ideology, it has sacrificed quality in that pursuit, as they themselves have admitted. I’d hoped that Iger’s return might have righted the ship, but it seems he’s unwilling to make the changes necessary to undo Chapek’s insanity, because it means firing a number of reprehensible, radical, ideologically driven people who never should have been hired. And Iger himself has no creative vision, he is only able to buy other people’s visions…but the organization he now helms is only equipped to destroy those IP.
Larry Fink said “You need to force behaviors.” He means forcing Postmodernist insanity on the world, but in this environment, I’m inclined to agree: in order to counter this ideological push, normal people need to push back, and one of the best ways to do so is to stop funding their propaganda machines. Cancel D+, and do other vacations for a few years. Visit national parks, see Europe, go on non-Disney cruises, go camping, go on a real photo safari in Africa. With the cost of a WDW or Disneyland trip these days, a real adventure may be cheaper, or at least cost-competitive with, a fake Disney one. Stop subsidize Disney Corp’s multibillion-dollar losses on bad movies and streaming shows, and stop encouraging astronomical park fees to compensate. Change will only come if we incentivize it by withholding our support.
