OPENING DATE Announced for Downtown Disney’s NEW Restaurant — Din Tai Fung

Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort is pretty much getting a complete makeover — so much is going on there right now.

Marceline’s Confectionery is in the middle of a big upgrade, three NEW Mexican restaurants just recently opened, and more restaurants are on the way, including Porto’s Bakery, Parkside Market, and Din Tai Fung. Speaking of Din Tai Fung, we’ve got a MASSIVE update to share with you: Disney just revealed the restaurant’s official opening date.

In April, Disney revealed that Din Tai Fung would open in the summer of 2024. Now, we know EXACTLY when the new restaurant will open. Din Tai Fung will start serving a limited menu on June 24th as it prepares for its official grand opening in July. So you can check it out BEFORE it officially opens.

UPDATE: Din Tai Fung will officially be open with a full menu on July 1st!

Din Tai Fung is a world-renowned Chinese restaurant originating in Taiwan. It specializes in soup dumplings and noodles. The Downtown Disney location is the first for the restaurant to be built from the ground up. The restaurant building is “infused with architectural and design elements that pay homage to the company’s Taiwanese heritage.”

While the exterior takes inspiration from a traditional Chinese pavilion, the inside of the restaurant has a beaded installation over a circular bar. There will even be an expo kitchen where visitors can watch dumpling-making firsthand.

The Downtown Disney menu will feature Din Tai Fung’s signature soup dumplings, wontons, noodles, steamed buns, bok choy, pork chop fried rice, and more. All meals will be served family style.

Want to get in on the soft opening of Din Tai Fung? Reservations are open here right now on Yelp for June 24th and later. We suggest jumping on those quickly because we can expect this is going to be one popular Disneyland restaurant.

We were previously invited to check out some exclusive merchandise coming to Din Tai Fung’s Downtown Disney location. You’ll be able to pick up some fun merchandise like Bao Bao Plushes (Bao Bao is the official Din Tai Fung mascot).

There are also other accessories, shirts, hats, and more souvenirs to choose from.

We also had an opportunity to try out Din Tai Fung’s famous Bao — and let’s just say, we can’t wait to eat it again!
