I Cut the Cost of My Disney Souvenirs in HALF by Doing These 4 Things

Disney souvenir prices are NO JOKE.

Disney Merchandise

You’ve already paid a ton of money to take this vacation and be in the parks, and now you’ll be spending more money than you might have anticipated on merchandise that you, or your family, are just dying to have (and hey, I can’t fault you, that stuff is CUTE!). But there has to be a way to cut down on souvenir costs, right? I reached out to the AllEars team for their tips on cutting down on costs, and am bringing those 4 tips directly to you!

And the best part? Inside each of these 4 tips are MINI tips, so we’re really giving you EIGHT different ways to save!

Be Strict with Limits

One of our writers shared with us that she tells herself she can only get a select amount of things per trip. For example, she loves to collect pins and ornaments, so on each trip, she tells herself she’s only allowed to get one of each.

Pin collecting is a THING

Now the key here is that she also STICKS to her limit! These are no help if you find yourself breaking them easily, so you may want to bring someone else in on the plan so they can help hold you accountable.

Ornaments

This may also come in the form of a monetary limit instead of a specific number of items. If you tell yourself you only have $50 to spend on souvenirs and stick to it, it’s better than having no budget at all!

Utilize Gift Cards

Disney Gift Cards are SO helpful for a variety of reasons, specifically when it comes to budgeting for your trip! If you purchase a Disney Gift Card and tell yourself that you can only spend that amount on souvenirs, when it’s out — it’s out!

Target Disney Gift Cards

However, you can also buy gift cards themselves at a discount from stores like Target (with a Target Circle Card where you save 5% on every purchase), Sam’s Club, and Costco! While it may not be a huge savings, every penny counts in our eyes.

And you can save 5% at Target!

Additionally, one of our writers said she always asks for Disney Gift Cards for her birthday and holiday gifts! This is a great way to know that you’ll put your gift towards something you’d like in the future (so it keeps the celebration going!) and also saves you a ton of your own money.

Shop the Discounts

Despite what you may think, discounts are all around the Disney World parks! Some of the more obvious ones are the Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts that members of those programs get, and we DO say to use those as much as you possibly can because you do get a percentage off in many stores! Plus, in Disney Springs D23 Gold members may be able to get discounts at various stores. It never hurts to ask!

Sale on Wish items

However, when you’re walking around a store in the resort, you may notice that discount signs are hanging in the store around certain merchandise items. Now, this is often put on merchandise that is out of season or hasn’t been very popular, but hey, any discount is a good discount!

Shop OUTSIDE the Parks

Now hear us out! Some of the best ways to save money on your Disney souvenirs is to buy them OUTSIDE of the parks! One way to do this still in Orlando is by shopping at the Disney Character Warehouse locations (there are two of them). These discount stores have Disney merchandise for WAY cheaper than you’d ever find it in the parks, and it’s still 100% verified Disney merch!

However, you can also shop online for a ton of souvenirs you (or your kids) will be wanting in the parks and save lots of money. Don’t believe us? Say your kiddo is begging for a Mirabel Dress — BAM, you’ve got it from Amazon for MUCH cheaper.

While character dresses in the park easily cost around $50-$60, this one is HALF that price and comes with lots of cute accessories.

What about one of those controversial bubble wands? Yep, you can grab those online too, like the BLUEY Dance Mode Bubble Machine!

And Bluey merchandise isn’t even sold in the Disney parks, so if your kid is a big fan of Bluey, this may be an extra special surprise!

Now what about those essentials that aren’t as fun, like ponchos when it rains? Buy ponchos like the Cosowe Rain Ponchos online instead of paying a wild amount for cheap plastic ponchos in the parks!

These ponchos are genuinely reusable and won’t tear and get gross after one use, making them infinitely a better investment than theme park ponchos.

And if you love pins as much as my fellow writer does, you may be looking for a way to display them all. Instead of paying an arm and a leg for a display in the parks, grab the PACMAXI Enamel Pin Display online.

We love this one especially because it folds up nicely and small and can easily fit in a suitcase!

Looking to save on those iconic souvenirs like ears and don’t think it’ll happen? Ears like the Minnie Mouse Vacation Style Poolside Ears are here to save the day!

Now, these ears aren’t always going to be the same quality as Disney’s ears since they sometimes aren’t made by the same companies Disney partners with (like Loungefly), but in this case, these ears ARE made by Loungefly and are still a few dollars cheaper than what you’d find in the parks!
