Would You Pay To SKIP This Three-Hour Disney World Ride Line?

Things are getting busy in Disney World, which we pretty much expected. We are going into Memorial Day weekend, after all.

We’ve already seen the price of Genie+ go up (which means Disney expects a higher demand for the service). We’re also starting to see wait times inch up, including some wait times for popular rides. But, we have to ask, would you want to wait in a three-hour line for a popular ride if you could pay not to?​

So, yes, wait times are going up in Disney World, and those popular rides are starting to get waits of up to two hours or more. But one ride has already reached a wait of almost three hours as of yesterday, May 24th. That ride would be Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Here’s the thing, though, you can pay for the Individual Lightning Lane option to bypass that hours-long line and get in the shorter Lightning Lane line instead. Is it worth it? Well, if time really is money, we’d have to say yes. You’ll save a lot of time by not waiting in line for three hours, right?

We generally recommend using that option when it’s available, as well as purchasing Genie+ for other rides you may want to ride without long lines. To get an idea of how things are going right now in Disney World, here’s a look at those wait times for yesterday:
