REVIEW: These 2 NEW Menu Items Might Change Your EPCOT Festival Plans

The 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival has been ongoing since February 28th.

Farmers Feast

This festival celebrates the changing seasons and welcomes us into Spring. There are flowers, gardens, and butterflies everywhere. You can enjoy specialty entertainment as well as outdoor kitchens (aka food booths). One outdoor kitchen in particular is extra special. It started the festival with one menu, but right in the middle of it, it switched up a couple of its items! We stopped by Farmers Feast to give these new options a try.

The Early Bloom menu at the Farmers Feast booth was available from February 28th through March 30th. Starting on March 31st through April 27th, the menu CHANGED! Not everything is different, but a few things were removed to make room for the Springtime Menu. Two new items were added — the Seared Scallop and the Blueberry Buckle pastry.

Both of these items are new to the festival!

Springtime Menu

These new items look so appetizing. That Blueberry Buckle is actually so pretty, and we couldn’t wait to dig into the scallop. So let’s find out if they taste as good as they look!

The Seared Scallop is made with tomato risotto featuring BEN’S ORIGINAL INTERNATIONAL GRAINS Arborio Rice and tomato beurre blanc. It is $7.75 for a good-sized scallop and a large portion of risotto.

Seared Scallop

Overall, we thought this combination was beautifully done. The scallop was cooked well and well-salted. Since it was seared, it has a nice crust to it. Plus, it was buttery — very tasty! The tomato risotto was fantastic. It was essentially smothered in a tomato bisque. It was creamy, rich, and perfectly paired with the scallop.

The Blueberry Buckle was $4.75. It is a blueberry crumble cake with lemon crème fraîche. We were very impressed with how well it held together in the Florida sun!

Blueberry Buckle

Disney chefs knew what they were doing when they added the lemon créme fraîche to the whipped cream. They totally nailed the flavors. They should win awards for that whipped topping. The crumble on top of the cake has a very heavy cinnamon flavor, and it’s crunchy. While you’re crunching on the crumble, the cake itself is nice and soft. The fresh blueberries were a nice, sweet addition. Overall, we really loved this dessert.

It was so good!

One item on Farmers Feast’s menu will be sticking around throughout the festival — Grilled Street Corn on the Cob — as well as the two drink offerings. However, we will see these two new items disappearing after April 27th to make way for the Summer Solstice menu. So if you want to try out the Seared Scallop and Blueberry Buckle, you’ll need to head over to the festival soon!
