Yes, Our Airline Just Sent Us A WARNING About Flying Out of Orlando

Spring Break has started in Disney World.

Orlando Airport

We’ve already started to see Spring Break in full action at the parks. The crowds have arrived. Wait times are up. Plus Orlando International Airport is VERY busy (as was expected). However, the airport is so busy right now that many people flying out of Orlando are getting warnings about it from their airlines.

We had a flight booked on Breeze Airways out of Orlando International Airport and received an alert from the airline’s app about crowds at the airport. The message refers to longer TSA lines and mentions that the ticket counter opens two hours before our flight time and to get to the airport early. We also received a text message with the same information.

According to the MCO website, you should arrive at the airport no less than THREE HOURS before your flight during this busy time. You can also check security wait times on the MCO website or through the airline’s app.

Breeze Airlines also suggested that we arrive early for our flight to get through the long TSA lines but also recommended reserving our spot in a shorter security line by using MCO Reserve. This works by letting you set a time to go through security. Even better, it’s completely free.

Your other option is to enroll in TSA PreCheck, which will let you use a separate security line, as well as allow you to keep your shoes on and all your liquids and electronics in your bag. This option does cost extra to sign up for ahead of time, but if you fly often and out of multiple airports, it could save you a lot of time and energy.

Orlando International Airport is expecting 7.6 million passengers to go through the airport during the busy Spring Break travel season, which lasts through April 7th. So if you’re going to be at the airport soon, prepare for crowds, and make sure you get there early enough to get through security and navigate to your gate.

  1. I just flew out of Orlando . MAKE SURE YOUR TICKETS NAME AND BIRTHDATE MATCH YOUR ID EXACTLY OR YOU WILL BE SENT BACK TO CHECK IN COUNTERS BY THE SECURITY TSA FOLKS . FL has its REAL ID in full swing now where other states don’t. It happened to me and others when I was there. This will cause huge delays guaranteed. It has to match EXACTLY.
