Permit Hints at Update for Disney World’s Upcoming (and CONFUSING) New Attraction

There is so much coming to Disney World soon and one of the new (and a bit confusing) attractions just got an update!

Storybook Circus

Magic Kingdom is getting lots of updates currently. From Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to the new Country Bears Jamboree show, there are lots of exciting things coming soon. We are also pretty curious about a new experience coming to Storybook Circus.

The new experience in Storybook Circus was announced last year as the “Smellephants on Parade.” We have been keeping a close eye on the new “presented by Scentsy” signs appearing and the removal of bushes in the area. And we just found a new update to this attraction!

Dumbo

A new permit was filed on March 14th, 2024, for an address that matches the “Smellephants on Parade” area. The permit is for the “installation of show sets” and the contractor listed on the permit is Themeworks, Inc.

While the permit does not provide additional information, it is exciting to see potential progress being made on a new experience! This family-friendly “search and sniff adventure” is getting closer to being ready and we are preparing our noses now.

It’s still super confusing and unclear what this experience will be except that a lot of smelling is involved. We know certain scents around the park are piped in including the smell of popcorn and scents on rides, so will this be similar to that? We’ll just have to wait and see.
