Recently, Governor DeSantis appointed republican Glen Gilzean as Orange County elections supervisor. Gilzean is an administrator that oversees Disney World on DeSantis’s Board, and will be replaced by Stephanie Kopelousos (an adviser who served on his presidential campaign) in his absence. As if this hasn’t shaken up the Board enough, we now have another HUGE update.

The Associated Press shared that Marin Garcia will no longer serve as the Board’s chairman.

This is just one week after Gilzean took on the role of elections supervisor and DeSantis suggested Kopelousos replace him as Board administrator.

DeSantis’s communications director Bryan Griffin thanked Garcia in an email stating that he played a large role in the transition of Disney being self-governed to being oversaw by the Board.

Garcia “developed a new district focused on transparency and the elimination of corporate welfare,” Griffin said.
