What do you think?

Now, let’s dive into the results!

The clear winner, by a “mountain” in this is Space Mountain! It was a landslide, which had us wondering what the reasons were.

1. Physical Discomfort

Alright, so picture this scenario: You’re all hyped up for a galactic adventure on Space Mountain, but instead, you end up with a crick in your neck and a sore back. That’s the story for many folks. They’re saying it’s just too rough on their bodies. Bumpy rides and creaky joints don’t mix well.

One of you mentioned: “Space Mountain it gets my neck and back every time.”

Another mentioned: “Space Mountain and Big Thunder. They’re too rough on my body!!”

And another said: “Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain – too bumpy for my old joints but otherwise would be fun!”

2. Fear of Injury

We’re all for a good adrenaline rush, but when that rush comes with a side of fear that you might break something, it’s a whole different story. Some of our poll respondents used to love Space Mountain, but now they’re spooked by the darkness and worried about ending up in the chiropractor’s office afterward.

One of you mentioned: “Space Mountain, I loved it when I was younger. Now I’m afraid I will break.”

3. Ride Experience

Sure, the space theme is cool, but if you’re too busy bracing yourself against the jerks and bumps, it kinda takes away from the whole experience.

  1. Yes, if you’re not in fair to good shape, it’s going to be more difficult to get in and out of this ride and you’re going to feel it more later. I agree with the other comment shared above that you’re almost better off being less rigid and not bracing yourself as you wind through the dark. Loosen up on the ride and it’s a better experience.

    1. Obese American here! Rode it for the first time at 45 and loved it! Went on it twice! Space mountain, Everest and 7 dwarves were mine and my 8yr olds favorite rides. Loved things like Flight of Passage and Soar too but definitely give me the old fashion body breaking rollar coaster experience any day.

  2. The cars remind me of the old Matterhorn sleds at Disneyland. They are hard to get in and out of, and are not padded enough for the beating you take on this ride. It is really rough. My seat belt was cinched as tight as it would go and I still came off my seat, while having the seat belt jam into my diaphragm. Not a fun experience! Never again!

  3. if you tense up while on roller coasters it will create lots of discomfort after the ride. I found years ago that if you relax yourself and your muscles you will NOT come off the ride feeling beat up. Its hard to become a wet noodle but just don’t lock your muscles, this is why most of the time drunk drivers don’t get hurt in accidents because they are beyond relaxed, Im NOT SAYING drive drunk. Give it a try.

  4. For Space Mountain I will continue riding, stress and all but I truly miss the future view, fantastic-ness of the science, industry and society. The introduction to the ride while waiting in line used to have genuine education value and the post ride exit dioramas used to show futuristic scenes of people enjoying life with modern products and their connection to people. All of that seems to have been ignored and now it’s just fluff theme displays, no feeling of ‘future’ and a rough, dark roller coaster with a medium to low wow factor in the build up and denumont is, at best, art without feeling.
