Disney has been recently sued for water slide injuries, a wrongful death in Disney Springs, and now, they’re facing a labor violation lawsuit. Here’s what we know.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disneyland’s maintenance workers have filed a class action lawsuit for labor violations.

The hotel maintenance workers claimed that Disney underpaid them. The workers were forced to pay for their own tools that they used for work, and weren’t being paid the required double minimum wage and correct overtime rate. The lawsuit seeks at least $1 million in backpay.

KNX News reports that Charlie Torres, an assistant maintenance engineer at Disneyland, alleged in the lawsuit that it is “common company policy” to require maintenance workers to “provide their own hand tools and equipment.” However, this in turn requires the company to pay the workers double minimum wage, which Disney wasn’t doing.

Torres also alleged that Disney didn’t allow workers rest or meal periods to employees working at least five-hour shifts. Those working over 10 hours didn’t get a second meal period.
