The Classic Disney World Ride You’ll Almost NEVER Have To Wait For

Yes, Disney World is always getting new high-tech rides sure to blow everyone’s minds.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened in 2022 and remains a VERY popular ride — it has even won AWARDS. TRON  Lightcycle / Run is also new and super popular thanks to a lot of hot tech and ideas. However, sometimes the classic Disney World rides just hit differently — and better — and we’re going to tell you about one that always satisfies and RARELY has a long wait.​

We’re talking about Carousel of Progress, which is the longest-running stage show IN HISTORY. The ride debuted at the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, and then made its way to Disneyland in 1967. It closed there in 1988. However, the show opened in Disney World in 1975 and has been in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom ever since.

What makes Carousel of Progress so special is that it’s one of the last rides left in Disney World that Walt dreamed up and has remained mostly unchanged (save for a few updates in its final scene here and there) since its debut. Now that Country Bear Jamboree is getting a reimagining, Carousel of Progress might be the most CLASSIC of Disney World attractions you can still ride (and it is a ride, as it’s a slow-moving carousel). PLUS “There’s A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” is STILL a banger (and thanks to the Sherman Brothers for penning that song, among other Disney classics).

The best part of Carousel of Progress is that it’s wait time is rarely over 5 minutes. It also has GREAT air conditioning. Basically, you can get on this ride any time throughout the day to enjoy a break and take a step back in time to see the world through Walt’s eyes.
