If You Were Visiting Magic Kingdom Today, Are You Ok?

Usually, when we experience a transportation delay getting to Magic Kingdom it typically stems from problems with the monorail.

Whoa, that’s a line!

However, this morning you really needed to pack your patience because it appears that a different mode of transportation decided on a “no bones” day. Here’s a little bit of what that looked like (and we’ll even let you in on our secret to keep your wait time down to a minimum when this happens)!

The Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) had a ROUGH start to the morning! It’s typically a pretty busy scene when trying to get from the parking lot of Magic Kingdom, through the security checkpoints, and merge with everyone else arriving to hitch a ride over to the park. However, today proved incredibly difficult.

Expect a long wait today

When we arrived at the TTC we were met with mass chaos. The ferryboats that are normally operating to usher folks to the Magic Kingdom park entrance were not working.

Uh oh!

This left only two options to get over to the park — you could either brave the crowds with the monorails or opt to take the backup buses that were called in to alleviate the congestion.

What to do?

Our reporter mentioned that the queue for the monorail was full on both sides…

Sorry, folks. This line is full

…then wound back and took much of the length of the walkway where the benches are directly behind the ticket booths.

We weren’t kidding!

Our reporter noticed that there weren’t many folks choosing to take the bus over to Magic Kingdom despite there being very little line and the fastest option by far.

Take the bus!

Ultimately, we opted for the buses and experienced a very minimal wait compared to those waiting to board the monorail. Within minutes, we were unloading at the hotel bus stop outside of Magic Kingdom.

Riding the bus

We quickly continued our way into the park behind crowds of others.

On to the park!

So let this be a cautionary tale to you — should you happen to experience some travel woes at the TTC, look for the transportation option (even if it’s not the most obvious) that appears the least crowded, and opt for that route to get to the park the fastest!
