Not only do you have Cast Members working in the theme parks, but you also have entertainers and Cast Members on Disney Cruise Line, Imagineers and other technical workers making new attractions come to life, and all the storytellers that bring us Disney films, just to name a few. Forbes has just released their list of the best large employers in the United States, and Disney has made the list!

Forbes published a list of the best large employers in the country in partnership with Statista. The data consisted of companies with over 5,000 workers. The survey asked employees to rate their employer and if they’d recommend their employer to others.

Responses were given by current employees and employees who had worked with the company in the past two years, as well as individuals familiar with the company through friends and family. 600 employers made the final list, and out of those, Disney ranked…number 419!

Wow, that’s…pretty low on the list; we’re not going to lie. The Walt Disney Company is reported to have around 166,000 employees and was founded in 1923. But who are we comparing them to? Well, here are the companies that made the top 10:

  • 10. The University of Kansas Health System
  • 9. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
  • 8.eXp Realty
  • 7. Houston Methodist
  • 6. In-N-Out Burger
  • 5. Delta Air Lines
  • 4. Children’s Hospital Colorado
  • 3. Cook Children’s Health Care System
  • 2. Garmin
  • 1. Novo Nordisk

Now, Disney does have more employees than most of the companies listed, which means that responses could have been all over the place. That could have played a role in why they’re lower on the list. Disney did come in second place in the Media and Advertising industry, just below Interpublic Group. It ranked higher than Comcast, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Netflix.
