Don’t Rope Drop Magic Kingdom Without Reading THIS First ?

It’s the age-old question: to rope drop or not to rope drop.

Rope dropping (arriving to the park as soon as it opens and being among the FIRST on the rides) certainly has its advantages. Who doesn’t want to be among the first people in a park? It also means you can hop in line for the more popular rides and knock those out fairly quickly (although they can often still have long waits when the park opens). One park we always recommend rope dropping for is Magic Kingdom. We’re going to tell you how to make the most of rope dropping there.​

If you look at recent wait times in Magic Kingdom, you might notice that two rides almost always have a ZERO wait time at rope drop. Those rides are Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean. As wait times for those rides increase as the day progresses, you’ll want to head straight towards those when you can after rope drop.

We do have a word of warning, though. Pirates of the Caribbean has been notorious recently for being closed often, even first thing in the morning, so that one still might have to wait until later.
