Why Disney World Could Be Extra CROWDED This Weekend!

January and February are typically less popular times in the Disney World parks, but sometimes some events cause crowds to pop up at the times you least expect.

ESPN Wide World of Sports

Sometimes this is due to runDisney events, or a time when students are out of school for a brief period in a small area of the United States. Other times, the crowds are from competitions happening at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, and if you’re heading into Disney World this week, you NEED to know about this event!

From February 2nd-4th, the 2024 UDA National Dance Team Championship will be taking place in Disney World.

Not only does this mean there will be an influx of groups in the parks during the days surrounding the tournament, but there will also be two special events for the competitors.

Crowds

On Friday, February 2nd, there will be a special after hours event for competitors in Magic Kingdom, and on Sunday, February 4th, there will be a special Celebration Party in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The public is not invited to these events, so keep a close eye on your My Disney Experience App to look for changes in park hours.

Isn’t the park beautiful at night?

This also means that wait times will likely be elevated on these days, so keep that in mind as you’re planning your vacation.
