If you haven’t been to Disney World in the wintertime, well, you better buckle up!

Even though Florida is warm most of the year (honestly, warm may be a bit of an understatement), it can get downright chilly in the first couple of months of the year. We’ve seen fluctuating temperatures so far in 2024, but those traveling soon need to be prepared with some winter clothes!

Starting on Tuesday, January 30th, winter is rolling back into Central Florida! The week prior saw some days in the mid-80s, but now the temperatures will drop down into the 40s for the final days of January and the first days of February.

Even though those temperatures may not be as low as other states, it’s important to remember that wind and humidity can make the air feel much colder than it really is in Central Florida. That wind chill is no joke!

Even the characters bundle up in the winter!

If you’re traveling to the parks in the coming days, we recommend wearing layers. Warm pants, jackets, thick socks, closed-toed shoes, hats, and yes, even gloves. Investing in some hand warmers for your pockets might not be a bad idea either!

Don’t forget to bundle up!

It might be a good idea to save those outdoor thrill rides for mid-afternoon, when it’s sunniest and the breeze from a roller coaster doesn’t feel like it’ll cut right through your skin. Plan breaks to go inside and warm up throughout the day, and be on the lookout for hot chocolate available at more restaurants! (It’s pretty much a winter necessity beverage.)

We’ll make sure to keep you updated if the weather changes significantly again, but for now, it’s time to start packing those coats and long pants. Best of luck the next few days!
