What CROWDS Look Like at the FIRST 2024 After Hours Event in Magic Kingdom

It’s a very BIG day — or should we say — NIGHT in Magic Kingdom!

Isn’t the park beautiful at night?

January 11th marked the FIRST official 2024 After Hours event at Magic Kingdom! These events are a TON of fun — you can enjoy Magic Kingdom attractions without the looong lines and crowds you see on a normal day in the park. Now, let’s take a look at the CROWDS (or lack thereof!).

This event takes place from 10PM to 1AM. If you have an After Hours ticket, you can enter the park at 7PM—a few hours before the event officially begins. During our event, Magic Kingdom closed to day guests at 10PM, so we had a few extra hours before the party started.

This year, Magic Kingdom’s After Hours events run select nights from January 11th through April 8th, 2024. We arrived at Magic Kingdom at 7PM, and there was a pretty long line to enter the park!

Check out the crowds by the entrance!

Once we got inside, we headed straight for Cinderella Castle — the Happily Ever After fireworks show started at 8PM, so we had to check it out!

Here’s a look at the wait times around 8PM. Even those popular attractions like Haunted Mansion and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were under 60 minutes!

As we mentioned, the event doesn’t start until 10PM, but once the After Hours party kicks off, the following rides stay open during the event:

  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • Haunted Mansion
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Jungle Cruise
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Space Mountain
  • The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Swiss Family Treehouse
  • Enchanted Tiki Room
  • Country Bear Jamboree
  • The Barnstormer
  • Dumbo The Flying Elephant
  • Mad Tea Party
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
  • Mickey’s Philharmagic
  • Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel
  • Under The Sea — Journey of The Little Mermaid
  • Astro Orbiter

OK, now for the big reveal! At 10PM, here’s a look at some of Magic Kingdom’s wait times. Look at all those 5-minute waits!

Even at 11PM, the wait times were still nice and low. Check it out — it’s not very often you see a 10-minute wait at Space Mountain!

During our visit to Fantasyland, we were blown away by how QUIET it was in the area!

There’s no one here!

Have we ever told you that it is VERY dark in Fantasyland?

This place is DARK!

Now listen up, because this is important! During Magic Kingdom After Hours events, TRON Lightcycle / Run will use the standby queue. Right when the standby line opened at 10PM, the line reached a 45-minute wait.

Later in the evening, the wait time went down to 35 minutes.

Not too bad, eh?

Over by the Cinderella Castle, it was EMPTY during the Enchantment fireworks!

There you have it! We could get used to wait times like this. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
