Recently, we learned that another TV series has been canceled.

The series, based on a graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, debuted in May 2023. The show follows Jin Wang, who is described as “an average teenager balancing high school and home life.” Wang meets a new student on the first day of school and quickly finds himself in the middle of a battle with Chinese mythological gods.

The show reportedly did not have a high enough viewership count to justify a second season, per Variety, though the producers plan to shop the series to other platforms. Although the series didn’t earn enough viewers to get a second season, the show received positive reviews from critics, and season one was rated highly.

This isn’t the first show to be canceled by Disney. Recently, Disney Channel’s Bunk’d, one of the longest-running shows on the channel, announced it would conclude with season seven.
