The One Disney Park Ticket You Don’t Want To Buy in the Winter

Even though Disney World is located in the Sunshine State, it can still get pretty chilly in the winter time.

That leaves a lot of guests wondering what happens to the water rides and water parks that are located on property. Well, friends, they CLOSE. It’s not at all uncommon for the water parks to see closures throughout the winter months due to cold temperatures. As a matter of fact, Blizzard Beach recently closed due to the lows — Disney shared that the water park would be closed from December 28th through the 31st.. Except… it seems those lows will stick around for longer than the 31st.

Disney updated Blizzard Beach’s hours of operations to reflect a longer closure than we previously expected. Now, the park will remain closed throughout January 2nd…

…and will re-open on January 3rd.

So, what should you do if your water park plans were ruined by winter temps? Well, if you were really hoping to have some fun in the pool throughout your wintertime trip, we recommend checking out your hotel pools, water slides, and hot tubs. Yes, the hotel pools are heated — although they will still feel pretty chilly.

Plus, the colder days are some of the BEST times to visit the Disney Parks. Like, how often do you get to say that you DON’T sweat while waiting in line for your favorite rides?
