Christmas has come and gone and 2024 will be here before you know it.
Will you be staying up until midnight to celebrate? Many cities go all out on New Year’s Eve to ring in the new year with glitz and glamor. New York City might be the most recognized place to celebrate, but the results of a recent study of the best places to spend the holiday in the U.S. might surprise you!
According to WalletHub, many businesses are notorious for hiking up their prices on New Year’s Eve, particularly hotels, which can experience several hundred percent price increases over the rest of the year.
Fortunately, they have compiled a list of the 100 biggest cities and ranked them based on 26 factors including the legality of fireworks, nightlife options per capita, affordability, and forecasted precipitation on December 31st. After giving each city a combined score, one was the clear winner: Orlando, Florida.
According to the article, Orlando ranks first when it comes to nightlife options, and affordable restaurants rated 4.5 stars and up. The city also has some of the nation’s longest fireworks displays, and consumer fireworks are legal, so you can set up your own shows if you please.
Coming in second place is San Diego, California, with New York, New York in third. The top ten cities are listed below.
