The Christmas Eve Crowds in Disney World Were NOT What We Expected

There’s something especially magical about being in Disney World during the holiday season.

But, do you what isn’t so magical? Those holiday CROWDS! Spending the holidays in Disney World isn’t a new idea, and the Christmas Eve crowds we’re seeing prove it.

Merry Christmas Eve from Disney World! We’re taking in all the sights and sounds of the parks on this festive day so you know what to expect if you’ll be heading to the parks soon. We weren’t the only ones who wanted to spend the day in Magic Kingdom — here’s a look at the line for a parking tram.

The Monorail was busy too, but pretty typical for park opening time.

Once we scanned in, there was some congestion at the Main Street train station.

You have to take advantage of the awesome holiday photo op!

Gotta get those train station pics!

Main Street was busy, but there was still room to breathe.

Here’s a look as if you’re walking down Main Street!

Nothing like seeing Cinderella Castle on Christmas Eve!

There was a line at Main Street Bakery (as usual in the morning), but we’ve seen the line longer earlier in the week.

Over in Liberty Square, there was even some room to spread out.

Wait times are looking pretty standard for a busy day in Disney World. Genie+ is $39 for Magic Kingdom on Christmas Eve which is a new record-high for the skip-the-line service. When we checked on Individual Lightning Lanes around 8:30AM, none of the rides that use them were sold out yet even though hotel guests could start booking them at 7AM.

The longest wait times were at the usual popular attractions including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. Some of the character meet and greets were up there too!

We also noticed higher wait times at Jingle Cruise (which won’t be around for much longer), Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and more.
