Speaking of Disney+, there are tons of Disney (and non-Disney) movies available to stream right now. But if you’ve thoroughly combed through the catalog on more than one occasion, you may be looking for something new. Well, there’s a NEW original series coming to Disney+, and it’s based on a beloved book series!

Disney is set to debut its NEW Percy Jackson and the Olympians series on Disney+ soon! The story follows 12-year-old modern demigod Percy Jackson, played by Walker Scobell, who is just getting used to his powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. Mark your calendars — the series will be available to stream starting December 20th, 2023.

The cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians sat down with Complex ahead of the show’s premiere to discuss their experience. But what really caught our attention was one question in particular: “What was it like living out everyone’s dream and spending time in camp half-blood in real life?

The star, Walker Scobell, answered, “It’s been weird, I don’t think it’s possible to appreciate it enough,” adding, “You can really tell when you’re at camp half-blood, too, [that] everyone is just so excited to be there. It felt like a real camp.”

Then, Scobell’s costar, Aryan Simhadri noted, “And the amount of detail that they put into each cabin to make them unique and stand out.” Then, actress Leah Jeffries chimed in to say, “They should definitely put out a ride, though. They should have one whole park, where there’s a part with camp half-blood and then the tunnel of love ride. It would just be so amazing, because then that way fans could experience it. That would be so cool.” The stars then suggested “Like Avengers Campus in Disneyland,” followed by “Or like Hogsmeade in Harry Potter at Universal.
