NEWS: Severe Weather Approaching Disney World This Evening

We recently notified you about an impending storm set to hit Central Florida the weekend of December 16th and 17th. 

Those dark clouds mean impending rain!

As we move further into the day, on Saturday, December 16th, we’re here to give you an update as to what you might expect this evening and into tomorrow. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look great for Disney World guests.

A storm that has been developing the the Gulf of Mexico will be bringing tropical storm-like conditions, according to WESH News. The biggest threat to the area– tornadoes.

Be prepared for rain this afternoon!

The storm is expected to begin around 4 PM ET on Saturday and be out of the area by Sunday afternoon. The tornado threat could begin Saturday evening and continue through Sunday morning. Flooding is also likely to occur in different parts of the area, with an accumulation of 2-5 inches of rain expected. The area could also see winds up to 50-55 mph.

Jollywood Nights has been canceled for December 16th

The forecast has already begun to affect Disney World. Jollywood Nights for December 16th has been canceled and Disney is giving full refunds for the event. Also, Blizzard Beach is closed on both Saturday and Sunday.
