You’re Wearing the WRONG Shoes to Disney World!

When it comes to Disney World, you want to do your best to be comfortable.

Nothing can combat the pain your feet are in by the end of the day, but it sure is possible to do as much as you can to prevent it! What if we told you that you’re wearing the WRONG shoes to Disney World?

Now, we want to be VERY clear, whatever shoes have worked well for you in the past at the parks are great! Whatever shoes you are able to walk 10 miles in is the answer to what you wear on your park day.

However, at AllEars we have people in the parks every single day, so we do have some feelings about what shoes don’t work for the long days and thousands of steps.

Flip-Flops

Okay, we know this may be a little self-explanatory, but it needs to be said. While flip flops are great and convenient for short term things like trips to the grocery store, they can get PAINFUL.

Whether it is the rubber digging into certain parts of your feet or the general discomfort since you don’t have support, we recommend taking these off of your park day rotation (however, keep them in your suitcase for pool days!).

TOMS

Okay, we’re not sure if other people in this world still wear TOMS, but we do. Through many trials and tribulations, we have found that these also aren’t the best shoes for long park days. On top of the lack of support, they are also made of a thin fabric, which means that they don’t stand a chance against the heavy Florida rain, and you’ll be wearing soaked shoes all day.

Dr. Martens

While we love the aesthetic of Docs, they may not be the best choice for your 16 hour Disney day. The leather of the shoes is super restrictive for your feet, and they tend to leave blisters if you don’t wear the correct socks and padding with them. Some Docs are also just very heavy, which means that your feet will get tired even quicker during your long park day.

Converse

We love a simple shoe, and Converse meet those criteria. However, when it comes to a day at the Disney parks, they may not be your best bet. These shoes are mostly canvas, so when it comes to dealing with the rainy Florida weather, they may not be your best option.

Tennis Shoes

While tennis shoes can be cute and go with almost any outfit, they are also not the best option to wear around the parks all day. They don’t give a lot of support and can sometimes feel very restricting, especially after a long park day!

At the end of the day, the shoes you wear to the park is a very individual thing. It is not the time to try out a pair of brand-new shoes or experiment on what shoes are the best (that’s why you have us!). Wear whatever shoes you feel could carry you through a long day at the parks and that is all that matters!
