Disney’s Animal Kingdom is an underrated park, according to many Disney fans. It’s often one of the least crowded parks, and many people believe it to be a half-day park.

But what if you could experience this park at night, with little to no one else around? That’s what Extended Evening Hours offer guests staying at Deluxe Disney World hotels, and we’re headed in to experience it!

Extended Evening Hours allow guests to visit the park with shorter wait times, smaller crowds, and, in this case, a totally new perspective of Animal Kingdom!

Let’s do this!

We entered the park around 5PM and noticed that it was still fairly busy when we first arrived. But don’t worry; as the night progressed, the crowds pretty much disappeared!

During Animal Kingdom’s Extended Evening Hours, you can still ride:

  • Avatar Flight of Passage
  • DINOSAUR
  • Expedition Everest
  • It’s Tough to be a Bug!
  • Meet Mickey and Minnie at Adventurers Outpost
  • Na’vi River Journey
  • TriceraTop Spin
As you can see, it’s not crowded at all!

To see a full list of the available attractions and dining options, you can scan the QR codes set up around the park!

Interestingly, Creature Comforts and Yak and Yeti Local Food Cafes were still open during the Extended Evening Hours despite not being on the list of open restaurants. Dining availability is subject to change, though!

Of course, the best part of Extended Evening Hours is the low crowds! Check out these wait times — they’re so low!

As you may know, Pandora is typically a place we expect to see a lot of crowds. Tonight, however, it felt like a ghost town in the BEST way. A 15-minute wait for Na’vi River Journey? Yes, please!

WHOA!

There were so many beautiful spots to admire during the event. Look at the lights!

Note that the entire park was not open; sections of Asia and Africa were closed.

Those animals need to rest, after all!
