That’s because The Walt Disney Company has released its Q4 2023 Earnings Report and held its Earnings Call. One of the biggest updates from that call, though, concerns the future of Disney+ and Hulu. Now, we already got an update on subscriber gains at Disney+, but how does Hulu factor into the situation now? Well, now we know.

We previously reported that Disney has plans to buy out Comcast’s stake in Hulu, which would make Hulu 100% under Disney ownership. One of the things Disney said during the Earnings Call is that the company hopes to make more content available through bundling the two services.

During Disney’s Q4 Earnings call earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Disney would soon offer a “one-app experience” that brings Hulu content into the Disney+ app. Well, Disney just announced that a beta version of that for Disney+ and Hulu bundled subscribers will launch in December, with an official launch slated for early spring 2024.

Iger said “Just imagine the opportunities” when it comes to a combined streaming experience.

He also mentioned how the company is “implementing stronger standards around account sharing.” The company did recently begin cracking down on password sharing. However, Disney doesn’t expect to see how that will affect streaming revenue until 2025.

Iger has previously said that streaming is his #1 priority, so it seems that the company is moving forward with more plans for both Disney+ and Hulu.
