Disney World’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House Is Taking Shape!

It might be Halloween, but Disney is already preparing for the holiday season!

We’ve spotted Christmas decorations in Animal Kingdom, and have had a look at all the treats coming to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in Magic Kingdom too. But now, an iconic Disney World hotel Christmas decoration has started taking shape!

The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is officially under construction at this flagship hotel! We stopped by to see it taking shape, and even though it’s still in the beginning stages — we’re already amazed at the impressive feat.

Look at that!

Cast Members working on the gorgeous gingerbread house told us that there are 8500 pieces of gingerbread total and that it will be fully completed within the next few days.

Each year, Disney’s Grand Floridian celebrates the holiday with a GIANT gingerbread house that sets up shop in the lobby. Inside the house is a shop where you can buy gingerbread and festive treats through the holiday season.  You can check out what the finished house looked like last year below!

The gingerbread at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will be an all-new display this year as well.
