We love Disney Cast Members!

Cast Members in Disney have a way of brightening a guest’s day. The parks and our experiences just wouldn’t be the same without them. So many Cast Members go above and beyond their roles and make guest experiences memorable.
We asked our readers on Facebook “What is the best thing you’ve ever seen a Disney World cast member do?” And we got some pretty amazing answers. Try not to cry as you read through some of their experiences.
Characters
Many guest experiences with Cast Members involved the characters.

One reader, Diana, shared how Minnie Mouse once noticed her son in a wheelchair during a meet and greet. She said while they were off to the side, not in line at all, Minnie left the line to gesture that they come skip the line to meet her! It was a very thoughtful gesture that Diana hasn’t forgotten.

Lizzy told us about a time that Goofy — while leaving the park for a break — stopped in his tracks when her child yelled for him. He turned around and hugged her child for a solid minute before heading back out for his break.

Laurel told us about a time at Chef Mickey’s when Pluto got down on the floor and let her 3-year-old son ride on his back! She said while her son is grown up now, he still remembers this experience!

Servers in Restaurants
Many of our readers talked about servers in restaurants adding a bit of pixie dust to their meals!
Michael said that his server at Cinderella’s Royal Table got Cinderella herself to present his now wife the engagement ring when he proposed!

That was so special of her!
Kelly told us that for her daughter’s birthday, a server at Chef Mickey’s moved them to a table near the window so they could watch the fireworks AND brought Mickey and Minnie over to watch with them!

Cast Members at Rides
We also heard a lot of interactions with Cast Members while at rides.
One gentleman, Donnie, told us about the wonderful Cast Member who had read his and his wife’s shirts that they had made to celebrate his life-saving liver transplant and then gave them a week of fast passes for Expedition Everest!

We’re really glad you got to celebrate that life-saving event!
Meaghan and her family were coming off of Star Tours when a Cast Member asked them if they would like to ride again. When they said yes, he took them through a back door and right up onto the ride!

There were so many wonderful stories shared on our Facebook post. It was truly challenging to just pick a few. But that is exactly what makes Disney so magical, the Cast Members. They keep Disney magic alive! If you see Cast Members, be sure to return the kindness! And remember that while these magical moments happen all the time in Disney World, Cast Members do have important jobs to do, and they aren’t always able to make this kind of magic for guests — but that’s part of what makes these moments so special!

What is your favorite Cast Member memory? Let us know in the comments!
Years ago, when Jafar was more readily seen in the parks, my young son waited in line for a long time for Jafar’s autograph. When it came time for Jafar to head to the parade, my son still had not gotten his signature. While he walked away, Jafar kept signing for those little kids. I always appreciated that, as my son did get his autograph.
During our first visit, we went to GF for the character breakfast. My son spilled milk on the table. Cast members had the entire table redone in minutes, and they said, “No problem. This is Disney World.”
More recently, my grown son and I were walking from GF to the Poly. A cast member we passed gave us leis.
In 2018, my wife, daughter, and I showed up right before showtime for the Beauty and the Beast stage show at Hollywood Studios expecting to have to settle for a seat in the back row. The cast member at the front let us know we were going to the the “family of the show”, gave my daughter a fake red rose, and escorted us down to row 3 right in the center! I have a pic of my daughter on the ride home, and my little princess was still clutching that rose.
