We did our best to take you along with us, told you about all the beautiful interactive details, and also bragged about the attraction’s gorgeous bathrooms. Now, we’re ready to answer any questions you might have about it.

So we took to Facebook and asked you, our AllEars readers, what questions you might have about the attraction. So, let’s get to it.

When will it open to guests?

Thanks to Destination D23, we now have an answer to this question. Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will open to guests on October 16th.

Journey of Water

Not only that, but a new Moana meet and greet will be available nearby, starting on that same date.

Is there enough room for people to walk through and children to play?

The answer is “yes!” There’s plenty of space to move around in the attraction, and you’ll find a splash pad plus WAY more interactive elements that the entire family can enjoy.

So many things to play with

It’s a great way to have a little fun downtime with the whole family in EPCOT.

Is it an attraction or just a walkthrough?

It’s both! It’s a walkthrough attraction where you can interact with water, as well as learn about the cycle of water (which makes it very EPCOT-like).

Spring

It’s not a RIDE, but it’s still very much an attraction where there are PLENTY of things to experience and do.

Will it have a Lightning Lane?

The answer is “no.” As far as we know, this attraction will not have a special Lightning Lane to enter.

Are there benches in the shade where parents/grandparents can sit and watch kids play in the water?

Although the attraction doesn’t have as much shade as we originally thought, there are benches where you can sit down and rest your weary feet.

Benches

Don’t forget there’s both a wet path and a dry path, so for those who don’t want to get wet, you can still enjoy the attraction.

Am I allowed to carry my water bottle or only store-bought bottled water?

Although there are water bottle stations outside the attraction, the rules for inside the attraction don’t allow any food or drink other than commercially bottled water in plastic bottles.

The rules

That said, we previously spoke with a Cast Member who informed us that Disney is hoping to get this rule changed in the future.

Why is it in EPCOT?

Believe it or not, Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is a good fit for EPCOT, especially since it’s in what is now the World Nature area of the park.

Yes, it belongs in EPCOT

It also has educational and interactive elements that explore the cycle of water, giving it a very old-school EPCOT feel.

Can I see Pua and Hei Hei?

Well, actually, “YES!” But you’ll have to look carefully at the details of the attraction.

Hey Pua!

Look closely enough, and you will spot your favorite animal characters from Moana, along with many other references to the movie.

How hot is it being outside in the heat?

Well, that’s the draw of this attraction. When it’s hot out, you can explore the cycle of water, get a little wet, and cool off at this attraction. It’s a win-win!

How FUN!

Even if you don’t want to get soaking wet, you can still feel the cool mist of the water.

When I see the line where the sky meets the sea, will it call me?

Um…we think you already know the answer to this question. “No one knows how far it goes.

It’s even prettier at night
