The Disney World Rides You Should Probably AVOID Right Now

If you’ve been following along recently, then you know that Disney World is currently experiencing some extreme summer heat levels.

Warnings have been issued from weather services about the dangerous temperatures in the Central Florida area, and if you’re traveling this August, you might want to be prepared with a good “survive the heat” plan. And as part of that weather survival plan, there are probably some rides that you should AVOID.

When you travel to Disney World during the summer, there are bound to be some long lines for the attractions. Ya know, since most people are out of school and on vacation. But combine some of those long wait times with attractions that have primarily outdoor queues…and well, you’ll be unnecessarily miserable.

There are a few of these rides in each park that are probably a no-go during the heat of the day. At Magic Kingdom, you’ll probably want to avoid Jungle Cruise, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, as well as Haunted Mansion. At EPCOT, the big offenders are Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Test Track.

At Animal Kingdom, the worst offenders are the two rides in Pandora — Na’vi River Journey and Avatar Flight of Passage. And finally, at Hollywood Studios you might want to avoid Slinky Dog Dash, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

If you want to experience these rides, we recommend either rope dropping them, hitting them at the end of the night, or using Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes to avoid waiting in line for longer than necessary.
