If you want to hang out late in Disney World, there are plenty of ways to get some extra park time!

Guests of Deluxe Resorts (and Deluxe Villas and select other hotels) can enjoy Extended Evening Hours on select nights in some of the parks, but if you’re not staying in one of the qualifying hotels, you could go to one of Disney’s separately-ticketed nighttime events. Some of the most popular options are Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but if you’re just interested in doing rides with short wait times, an After Hours event might be the way to go.
On select dates, Disney World hosts After Hours events at different parks. Earlier this year, we saw these offered at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, as well as at EPCOT. They’re still happening at EPCOT for a little while, but if you want to go, we have a warning!

There are three dates left for this year — August 10th, 17th, and 24th. The 10th has been sold out for a little while, but now we know that the final two dates are each 80% full (as of the time of publishing)! This information was shared with us via a travel agent.

So if you want the chance to go to EPCOT After Hours before the current season ends for this event, you’ll want to buy your tickets NOW because they’re selling fast. With your event ticket, you’ll be able to enter the park at 7PM, but the event lasts from 10PM-1AM. Tickets for both dates are $129 per person pre-tax.

During EPCOT After Hours, several attractions will remain open for those with tickets, and you’ll be able to experience them with shorter wait times. Guests will also get to enjoy complimentary ice cream novelties, popcorn, and bottled beverages at snack carts around the park.

I have done these after hours parties [paid for as well as a resort guest] and highly recommend for repeat visitors. The weather is better, the crowds are low, you can eat 3 Premium Mickey Bars like I did! At the MK we were ON a ride – butts in seats – every 15 minutes on average. As someone who has been attending the Disney Parks since I was a toddler, I do not need full park days to experience everything sometimes. The only trouble can be transportation. When we stayed at the Polynesian and were in the MK after 1:00 a.m. the resort loop monorail was shut down – seemed stupid. We had to take the monorail to the TTC and then walk in the dark, which was disorienting, back to our longhouse. Disney should be able to do better than that. If the CEO can make millions then surely they can pay a monorail driver for a few hours!!
