Here’s How Much It Cost to Go on the Top 5 Rides in Disney World Every Day For The Last Month

You may have already bought your tickets to the Disney World theme parks, booked your hotel stay, and even paid for your travel to the Most Magical Place on Earth — but you’ll be hit with MORE costs when you get to Disney World and there’s one, in particular, you’ll want to budget for.

TRON Lightning Lane

Genie+ is the paid skip-the-line service that has replaced FastPass+ in Disney World. But if you want to skip the lines at 5 of Disney World’s most POPULAR rides, you’ll need to pay for something else — Individual Lightning Lanes. With Individual Lightning Lanes you pay…well…individually to skip the line ONCE at a qualifying ride. But just how much do these typically cost? And how much should you budget for your trip? We’ve got the data.

Again, as we noted above, Individual Lightning Lanes give you the chance to skip the standby line (or virtual queue) at some of Disney World’s most popular rides.

You do have to pay for these individually and you’re only able to buy a maximum of 2 per day (you can only buy 1 per ride per day, so you can’t buy 2 Individual Lightning Lanes for the same ride in one day).

Rise of the Resistance

The pricing on these varies by park, ride, and date, so things can change a LOT. They can also sell out, so that’s something to keep in mind.

So…just how much will it cost you to get on the most popular rides in Disney World by using their Individual Lightning Lanes? We’ve been keeping track of the prices and here’s what we’ve seen.

Flight of Passage Entrance

First, we want to note that of course to get on any of these rides you’ll need a theme park ticket and (for now) a Park Pass reservation. The theme park ticket is something else you’ll need to factor into your costs.

Welcome to Magic Kingdom

Generally, these start at $109 per day for a standard, 1-park ticket but that price can vary depending on the date, the park you’ll be visiting, if you’ll be getting a multi-day pass, and a number of other factors.

Alright, now let’s look at those Individual Lightning Lane (“ILL”) prices). Important note: The purchase of an Individual Lightning Lane is NOT required to go on any of these rides. Technically, you can get on all of these rides by either using their standard standby queues or by joining the virtual queues for the rides (assuming you’re able to score a spot), and both of those methods are included in the price of your ticket.

But if you want to SKIP the standby lines or virtual queues for these rides, then an Individual Lightning Lane is what you’ll need.

Cosmic Rewind Queue

Right now, Individual Lightning Lanes are offered at the following rides:

  1. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in Magic Kingdom (“Seven Dwarfs”)
  2. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT (“Guardians Cosmic Rewind”)
  3. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (“Rise”)
  4. Avatar Flight of Passage in Disney’s Animal Kingdom (“FOP”)
  5. TRON Lightcycle/Run in Magic Kingdom (“TRON”)

Here’s a look at what the Individual Lightning Lane for each of those rides cost in July 2023. Note that there were a few rides where the Individual Lightning Lanes were not available for purchase by the time we looked. It’s possible they had already sold out by that time, as we’ve noted in the chart below.

The Data

Here’s another look at the data in a way that can give you a greater sense of how things panned out for July. Overall, prices for the Individual Lightning Lanes for the rides ranged as follows:

  1. Rise was the highest, ranging from $20 to $25
  2. TRON was the second highest, staying steady at $20
  3. Cosmic Rewind was next, ranging from $14 to $17
  4. After that was Flight of Passage, ranging from $13 to $16
  5. And finally, the cheapest Individual Lightning Lane was over at Seven Dwarfs, ranging from $10 to $12
How It Looks

When we took averages of the numbers, the average costs were as follows:

  1. Rise in first place at $22
  2. TRON in second at $20
  3. Cosmic Rewind follows that at $15
  4. Flight of Passage next at $14
  5. And Seven Dwarfs in last at $11

Again, prices are subject to change depending on the park, date, and ride. So, while this hopefully gives you an idea of what pricing could be when you visit, note that things could be much cheaper or more expensive depending on when you visit.

If you plan to be in Disney World during any of the peak days during the upcoming holiday seasons — Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve — you might want to cushion that budget a bit and expect to pay a bit MORE for your Individual Lightning Lanes.
