These Are the Best Character Meals in Disney World, and You Have Our Permission to Skip the Rest

There are SO many characters to meet in Disney World, it can feel overwhelming.

We have a list of what the best character meet and greets are throughout the park, but what if you want to combine your magical character experience with your meal? We asked our readers on Facebook what the BEST character meals in Disney World are, and we’ve got plenty of answers!

Garden Grill

One of the most popular answers was Garden Grill! This table service meal is located in EPCOT right above Living With The Land. The best part? It (slowly) spins!

You get to look out over the Living With The Land scenes as you dine and also get to meet some of your favorite characters. You’ll be able to meet gardeners Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale!

This is a casual meal with classic food many enjoy, so if you’re looking for a simple meal to enjoy with the family, this is a great option.

Tusker House

Over in Animal Kingdom, you can also meet characters over at Tusker House.

This is a character meal many forget about because you’re so busy thinking about the animals to see and Pandora to experience in this park. But here you can meet some of the Fab 5 in the CUTEST safari outfits we’ve ever seen.

Yes, you’ll be able to meet Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy here! It’s a great way to meet multiple characters and enjoy a really great buffet/all-you-can-eat meal at the same time.

Crystal Palace

Many of our readers also love the character meal at Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom for the different characters you get to meet!

At this character meal, you get to meet your favorite friends from the Hundred Acre Woods! You’ll get to dine with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, making it one of the rare places you can meet these characters.

Many guests like to get an early breakfast dining reservation for this location, so they can enter Magic Kingdom when it’s empty, and be one of the first in the parks to experience some of the rides.

Chef Mickey’s

You know the classic had to be on here — Chef Mickey’s located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a favorite of many guests!

Chef Mickey’s is one of the most popular character meals, which means it’s one of the most popular to book. While the food may not be the most impressive of the all-you-can-eats, the atmosphere and characters more than make up for it.

Here you’ll be able to meet chefs Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy! Plus, the Monorail is RIGHT above you, so you can head to Magic Kingdom immediately after your meal.

Akershus

Last on the list we have Akershus, also located in EPCOT.

This character meal more recently reopened in November of 2022, and it’s where you can meet multiple Disney Princesses!

During this one character meal, you can enjoy lots of amazing food, while also meeting Snow White, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, and Tiana. It’s a great value in terms of food and meet-and-greets — we don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
