Yeah, EPCOT Can Be WEIRD. Here’s What Really Confuses New People.

EPCOT is the second largest Disney World park, and some people find it the MOST confusing.

EPCOT

There’s almost always a festival going on and construction is everywhere. We took to Facebook and Instagram to ask our readers what the most confusing aspect of EPCOT is to help first-time visitors, and we’ve got your answers!

WALLS

Yep, we knew it would be on here. Many of you said that the most confusing part about EPCOT right now is all the walls.

SO many walls

The walls are up to hide the massive amounts of construction happening in the park. While we’ve slowly started to see these EPCOT transformation projects finish over the past year or so and will see more completed in the next year, the walls right now are hard to navigate around.

Construction hides all the construction from guests

We had many readers say that navigating around the front of the park is especially difficult because that’s where most of the walls are located. If you find yourself having trouble, grab a park map, check the one on your My Disney Experience App, or ask a Cast Member for help.

What Buildings Are Open in World Showcase?

World Showcase is huge, and we found that many of our readers said they don’t know what buildings are open in World Showcase!

Canada Pavilion

We totally get this, especially because not every open building shows up on the My Disney Experience App. There are hidden exhibits in China, Morocco, and other pavilions that you definitely don’t want to miss.

Japan Pavilion Exhibit

It seems that there may not be that much to do in World Showcase at face value, but that’s not the truth! There’s so much hiding in the World Showcase pavilion buildings. If you’re feeling like you’re missing stuff in the pavilion, be sure to ask a nearby Cast Member!

Speaking of World Showcase, When Does It Open?

Many guests also don’t realize that most of World Showcase doesn’t open with the front of the park.

San Angel Inn Restaurante

While popular rides like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure do open with park opening, restaurants around World Showcase and other shows won’t open until later, like 10AM or 11AM. There are some exceptions like Les Halles in the France pavilion (where we highly recommend grabbing a quick breakfast).

Biergarten Restaurant

As always, you can ask a Cast Member with any questions, or check your My Disney Experience app to see when these shows and restaurants open.

There are TWO Entrances To EPCOT

Yep, there isn’t just one entrance to EPCOT! One of them is at the front of the park, while the other is at the back of World Showcase.

Front EPCOT Entrance

The front entrance to EPCOT can be reached by Monorail, Disney bus, or by car. The International Gateway entrance at the back of World Showcase though can be reached by Skyliner, boat, or by walking from one of the nearby hotels.

International Gateway Entrance

Entering at the International Gateway is a great way to hit Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After first, but not necessarily if you’re looking to drink around the world, or start at the front of the park. It’s also harder to reach that entrance if you’re not staying at a Disney hotel!

EPCOT

And those are the four biggest things that confuse people about EPCOT! Looking for the latest news on EPCOT to help you prepare? Look no further.

  1. I’m a little bummed about Harmonious but it’s not the end of the world. However, I am still upset over the fact that Elsa & Anna aren’t wearing their Frozen 1 dresses at the Royal Sommerhus. I miss the Frozen 1 outfits and braided hairstyles so much. They’re so iconic and special. It gives me so much comfort and joy to see them in those looks, which is why I love the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey’s Friendship Faire at Magic Kingdom as well as the Frozen sing-along celebration at Hollywood Studios. I really hope they bring back the Frozen 1 looks for Elsa & Anna at the Royal Sommerhus at Epcot
