Singer Tony Bennett Passes Away at Age 96

It’s always a sad day when someone passes who brought joy to so many people.

We’ve lost a number of legendary Disney celebrities so far in 2023, and now we must sadly say goodbye to another iconic performer.

According to CNN, singer Tony Bennett passed away Friday, July 21st at the age of 96. He was most famous for his song “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” but he had many other hit tunes throughout his eight-decade career.

He won 19 Grammy Awards and recorded two albums with Lady Gaga, but Disney fans may know him for covers of iconic Disney songs, including “The Bare Necessities.” He also had cameos on Muppets Tonight and Muppets Most Wanted.

We’re saddened to hear of Tony Bennett’s passing and send our deepest condolences to his wife, his family, and his fans.
