Disney World is going through so many changes, it can be a challenge to keep them all straight.

EPCOT is in the middle of its ongoing transformation which should reach completion by the end of the year. As part of that transformation, the new Journey of Water immersive attraction inspired by Moana is also expected to open in the coming months. In Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain is being reimagined into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is set to open in late 2024. But the parks aren’t the only thing going through massive overhauls. Disney hotels are going through a lot of changes at the moment — and these are the 3 biggest ones to expect next year.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been in the middle of a massive construction project for some time now. A new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) tower is in the works to be completed in 2024!

This tower will have new rooms that feature waterfront views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Most, if not all, will likely have balconies based on Disney’s concept art. Because of the location — it will also have some great views of Magic Kingdom!

This building will come with new dining and recreation offerings once it opens as well. We’ve been keeping an eye on the construction and have seen it make some significant progress lately.

We’ll keep you up to date with any major changes!
Disney’s BoardWalk
Disney’s BoardWalk is also going through a LOT of changes. Disney is in the process of remodeling all of the rooms at this resort, which will be getting all new furniture and decor. Disney shared a sneak peek at some of those rooms recently!

In addition to the room remodels, the lobby is also set to get some updates, and we’ve already seen the debut of the new Carousel Coffee.

But, that’s still not all. Outside of the hotel itself, a new restaurant is making its way to the BoardWalk! Sometime in 2024, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will open its doors to guests, serving up items for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

It will feature both sweet and savory menus, as well as an afternoon tea service.

We’ve been watching the construction closely, and are excited to see how it turns out!
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
In other DVC news, Disney has shared that they will redesign the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The plan is to bring in over 350 refreshed cabins to replace the existing ones by the end of 2024.

According to Disney, the new structures appear to be modern cabins “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling.”

Each of these new cabins will feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and private patio, and they will be built with “an eye toward the environment, utilizing the footprint of the existing cabins and taking advantage of more energy-efficient features.”

In addition to these new cabins, more updates are happening around the resort this year. Walking trails and the pool will see a refresh and a new dining experience will arrive at the recently closed Trail’s End Restaurant.

The previous table service location is turning into a new marketplace concept with quick service options, which is expected to open up in 2023.

There are so many projects happening right now, these are just some of the biggest ones at Disney’s hotels. Make sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

Which Disney World hotel change are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments below!
Prices of hotels in Disney World is now out of reach for many, especially the Value Hotels. They were more than doubled when I went for a quick trip last October! Any plans in lowering these again? Disney is getting extremely greedy!!
Could they make carousel of coffee anymore sterile? Felt like a drs ofc. Absolutely NO theming in there. Has Disney lost their imagination ??
It would be a shame if they redesigned the cabins and did not add a second bathroom, or at least a half bath. One bathroom for 6 people is ridiculous.
