The Ride Trend You WON’T Like in Disney World Right Now

While there are several things that go into a Disney World trip, rides are an important aspect to many!

That’s why we’re constantly tracking the wait times and ride closures so that you know what to expect on your vacation. Last week, we saw a major drop in the wait times, but this week things have changed…and you probably won’t be happy about it.

Wait times went up at most attractions in Disney World with the exception of many EPCOT rides. If the wait times below look a bit overwhelming, you can make the choice to buy Genie+, Disney’s skip-the-line service. Pricing recently changed for the service and makes it easier depending on the park you’re in.

To decide if you should budget for Genie+, take a look at the average wait times for every Disney World attraction over the past week.

Magic Kingdom

Wait times increased at nearly EVERY attraction in Magic Kingdom, including rides that we would consider filler attractions. For example, Liberty Square Riverboat went from a 4-minute wait to a 20-minute average wait time! The park’s most popular rides were not left out — Peter Pan’s Flight increased to a 70-minute average and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train increased to an 85-minute average.

Here are the average weekly wait times for each ride below, from shortest to longest wait times.

• Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse: 5 minutes
• Carousel of Progress: 5 minutes
• Mad Tea Party: 10 minutes
• Prince Charming Regal Carrousel: 10 minutes
• Enchanted Tiki Room: 11 minutes
• Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: 12 minutes
• Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 14 minutes
• Dumbo the Flying Elephant: 16 minutes
• Magic Carpets of Aladdin: 16 minutes
• Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini: 19 minutes
• Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid: 19 minutes
• Hall of Presidents: 19 minutes
• Liberty Square Riverboat: 20 minutes
• Tomorrowland Speedway: 21 minutes
• it’s a small world: 22 minutes
• Enchanted Tales with Belle: 28 minutes
• Astro Orbiter: 30 minutes
• Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: 33 minutes
• Pirates of the Caribbean: 35 minutes
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 39 minutes
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: 39 minutes
• Haunted Mansion: 42 minutes
• Jungle Cruise: 47 minutes

• Peter Pan’s Flight: 70 minutes

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios is another park where most of the wait times went up over the past week. This includes everything from rides like Star Tours to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance have average wait times in the 80-minute range.

EPCOT

Now might be the best time to go to EPCOT because wait times are actually trending DOWN. None of the average wait times even hit 60 minutes this week! This could be the calm before the storm because EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival kicks off at the end of July. We could be seeing crowds and wait times rise soon.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Back to our regularly scheduled programming, the wait times also went up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this week. Pandora continues to post the longest wait times and Flight of Passage saw an increase from a 76-minute average to a 95-minute average. That’s a huge increase!

• TriceraTop Spin: 5 minutes
• It’s Tough to Be a Bug: 10 minutes
• Expedition Everest: 33 minutes
• Dinosaur: 30 minutes

• Kali River Rapids: 34 minutes
• Na’vi River Journey: 58 minutes
• Avatar Flight of Passage: 95 minutes
