Behold EPCOT’s most iconic landmark, beloved attraction, and excellent photo-op: Spaceship Earth!

That giant geodesic sphere has it all: Judi Dench, immersive smells, and even a sassy scientist animatronic! What more could you possibly want?
If you’re planning a trip to EPCOT this month, you may need to rethink your plans. According to the Disney World website, Spaceship Earth will be closed on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023.

The good news is that the ride will reopen the next day, July 20th. The Disney World calendar shows normal operating hours for the rest of July.

Disney has not shared a reason for this unexpected closure, but it may be closed for temporary refurbishment. We’ll keep our eyes out for more information!

Disney often shuts down its rides for various reasons. In the event of bad weather, technical difficulties, or any sort of safety-related issue, you may see a ride unexpectedly shut down or evacuated.
