The ONE Thing We Hate About These Disney World Hotels

Between getting your park tickets and passes, booking your dining reservations, and choosing where you’re going to stay, planning a Disney World trip gets pretty complicated — pretty quickly.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

It gets even more confusing when you consider that each of the Disney World hotels comes with different transportation options that may or may not work for you. So, how do you know which hotels have what you’re looking for? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Who knows Disney World hotels better than Disney fans (and us)? So, we took to our Facebook page to ask, “Which Disney World hotel would you say has the worst transportation options overall?” And boy, did our readers have plenty to share!

Pop Century Resort

Depending on which hotel you choose, you might have a few different choices when it comes to getting around Disney World. You’ll typically find bus transportation at all the hotels, while some feature monorails, boats, walking paths, or even the Skyliner. Most of our readers took issue with bus-only transportation at the hotels, but that’s not all.

Disney buses can get you almost anywhere you need to go!

Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort

What’s often touted as the most beautiful Disney World hotel sometimes also gets a bad rap based on one thing — its location. Animal Kingdom Lodge is just straight-up far from pretty much everything else on the property. Because of that, buses are the only form of transportation offered here.

Animal Kingdom Lodge

Our readers overwhelmingly agreed that AKL wasn’t ideal simply because it’s far — which also means it can take a while to get to where you need to go. But if you ask us, when you’re staying at this hotel you might not ever want to leave! There are incredible themes, delicious dining options, and of course — animals right at your balcony window.

All-Star Resorts

Similarly, the All-Star Resorts: Sports, Music, and Movies, only have access to bus transportation. But, that’s not the worst part. These resorts often share buses between the three different locations, which can mean you’ll find yourself potentially making multiple stops before actually being on your way to your destination.

The All-Star Resorts are Value hotels, though, meaning you’ll find the cheapest rooms on property here. They can be a great option if you’re ballin’ on a budget or don’t plan on spending a ton of time at your hotel — that’s what the parks are for!

Coronado Springs Resort

Coronado Springs is another bus-only hotel, and yet again, we have worse news. This is one resort that has internal bus stops. What does that mean? Well, this hotel is pretty spread out — there are different buildings scattered across the property, and you’ll find a few different bus stops throughout.

Just like the All-Star Resorts, you might find yourself making multiple stops on your journey, which can be pretty frustrating when you’re excited about your plans! Our readers felt that Coronado was one of the worst hotels based on the internal stops alone.

Old Key West Resort

If you’re noticing a pattern, you’re not wrong. Old Key West was another common answer from our readers, and probably for the reasons you’re already thinking. This is a Disney Vacation Club resort, and it’s another spot that’s spread out pretty far. You’ll find the dreaded internal bus stops here, too.

But, there is some saving grace — you can snag a boat ride, but it’ll only take you to Disney Springs. If you’re heading anywhere else, a bus is your only option.

Saratoga Springs Resort

Another DVC resort on the list is Saratoga Springs. Buses are your friend here, if your “friends” also have to make multiple pit stops on the way to your destination. Disney Springs is a different story, though, as that’s a bit easier to get to.

Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

If you’re heading to Disney Springs, you can take a boat which launches near the Turf Club. Or, you can saunter on over by using the Disney Springs walking path.

Fort Wilderness

And finally, our readers are really not fans of the transportation situation at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Cabins. It’s primarily buses that are used to get to most places around Disney World property, and you also have to deal with those internal stops once again. Fort Wilderness is a huge resort with campgrounds and cabins, so you might have to walk quite a long way to the closest stop.

Luckily, you’ll also find boat transportation — but only to Magic Kingdom. If that’s enough for you, though, this might be the place to book your next stay!
