Date Announced for the Return of Disney’s Haunted Mansion Holiday Overlay

Only in the Disney universe is it totally normal to celebrate the holiday season in June. (Or October if you’re Jack Skellington)

We enjoyed an exclusive first look at holiday merch you’ll be able to snag at Disney World, saw 2 separate holiday events announced, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and now more holiday news continues to roll out for Disneyland.

If you’re a fan of Disneyland’s Haunted Manion attraction, you’ve probably come to know that for years now, during the holidays, this classic ride takes on a new jollier vibe.

It was around this time last year we noticed that the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay was slated to return, and we’re happy to say Disney confirmed the popular holiday transformation is returning for the 2023 season.

According to the Disneyland website, the return date of the festive overlay is September 1st, 2023. If you’re not already familiar with the Haunted Mansion Holiday transformation, you can expect to see the entire Haunted Mansion ride outfitted with characters from the Nightmare Before Christmas film.

You’ll get a peek at Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Lock, Shock, Barrel, and a few of their frightful friends as they get down to business to bring a little spooky fun to Christmas. They’ll need to watch out, though, because it just might not turn out quite the way Jack initially plans.

If you’re planning to catch a glimpse of the holiday overlay, you’ll be able to do so starting in September through the rest of the holiday season.
