Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Completely Surprised Us in Disney World

Although Disney parks may not be your first thought when you think of thrilling rides, there are plenty if you know where to go!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster goes upside down, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind goes backward, and TRON Lightcycle / Run goes faster than any other Disney World coaster. That’s why we had to share that one of the most popular coasters in Disney World is pretty EASY to get on right now!

We’re taking a look at the average wait times in Disney World from the past week and be sure to pay attention to how low the wait time is at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

Magic Kingdom

In Magic Kingdom, the wait times have continued to slightly decrease since the end of spring break season. However, we were taking a look at the typical popular rides in the park when we noticed that Big Thunder Mountain only had a 24-minute average wait time!

Here are the average weekly wait times for each ride below, from shortest to longest wait times.

• Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover: 10 minutes
• Tomorrowland Speedway: 10 minutes
• Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini: 10 minutes
• Enchanted Tiki Room: 12 minutes
• Magic Carpets of Aladdin: 13 minutes
• Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid: 14 minutes
• it’s a small world: 14 minutes
• Mickey’s PhilharMagic: 15 minutes
• Astro Orbiter: 22 minutes
• Big Thunder Mountain Railroad: 24 minutes
• Pirates of the Caribbean: 24 minutes
• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin: 25 minutes

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Rise of the Resistance saw a major decrease in its average wait time this week. It went from an 82-minute average last week to a 63-minute average. Slinky Dog Dash’s wait time also went down this week but it wasn’t as massive as the popular Star Wars ride.

EPCOT

Although Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure used to have some of the longest lines in all of Disney World, the average wait time is now under an hour. Frozen Ever After is still the longest line in the park and Test Track is easier to get on based on its declining average wait time.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Unlike Rise of the Resistance, Avatar Flight of Passage saw a pretty big drop this week. Last week, the average wait time was 78 minutes and this week it was a 70-minute average. This is still the longest wait time in the park, though.

• It’s Tough to Be a Bug: 10 minutes
• Dinosaur: 14 minutes
• Expedition Everest: 18 minutes
• Kali River Rapids: 21 minutes
• Kilimanjaro Safaris: 22 minutes
• Na’vi River Journey: 56 minutes
• Avatar Flight of Passage: 69 minutes
