In a recent survey conducted by YouGov and Yahoo News, 1,584 U.S. adults were asked, “How do Americans feel about the recent conflict between Ron DeSantis and Disney? Let’s see what the poll showed.

In a report by Yahoo News, a YouGov survey was conducted from May 5th to May 8th, 2023. Participants were asked whether they thought Disney’s and DeSantis’s actions were appropriate or inappropriate.

A second question regarding the Disney-DeSantis conflict asked, “In response to Disney’s criticism, DeSantis tried to abolish the special tax district that has enabled Disney World to essentially function as its own county government since 1967, then took control of the board overseeing the district. Similarly, 38% found his actions appropriate, while 40% found his actions inappropriate.

  1. I honestly think a business or company shouldn’t voice their political opinion. It’s a business not a person. But I also feel like DeSantis was just looking for a reason to have a problem with the Disney company. What underlying or personal issues does he have with Disney?

    1. Descant is was married at Disney. I’m guessing any problems he may have with Disney has to do with paying for a Disney wedding.

  2. Still a puppet board. Desantis its master now. I hope the attitude he has had keeps him from being elected to any office in the future.

  3. First off the first paragraph doesn’t state the entire story. The new legislation is to give parents more control over what their YOUNG ELEMENTARY children can read, see and learn in Florida public schools.
Most responsible, sane parents would not want their 6 year old learning about transsexuality, homosexuality or almost ANY sexuality in the classroom.
The legislation gives the parents back their rights to have a say about their child’s education.
BTW, DeSantis NEVER said “don’t say gay”, nor does it state that in the legislation.
That was made up to make it more divisive by the opposition. That’s what they do.

    1. It’s a speed run to fascism. How dare Disney exercise their first amendment right and criticize the meatball.

Florida’s education is going down the toilet along with their service industry thanks to recent legislation.

What sane person or company would want to move there?

      1. More people are moving to Florida than ever before. More people are moving from California to Texas as well. I wonder why?

        1. Well, many have always wanted to move to Florida because of the low prices, low taxes, and it’s always been a great place to retire. None of that is true now thanks to Desantis. Florida has the highest inflation rate of any state in the country. Much of what it was has been destroyed by Desantis.
As far as Californians moving to Texas? Have you looked at the problems California has in the news in the last 5 years? I’d want out too. It’s gotten really expensive to live there, there are natural disasters galore, water is in short supply, gas is usually $2.00 more than any other place in the nation, the homeless rate is through the roof, and even many celebs are fleeing because it’s cheaper to film movies in other states, or they don’t want their house burning down in a wildfire. California may as well break off and fall into the sea.

    2. I agree Leenie 100%. I live in Texas and even I have an understanding of the issue. I would not want any law passed giving schools the right to teach sex to my elementary school child. Teachers have enough to teach without worrying about something a parent should teaching anyway. Parents who disagree with the legislation just want schools to teach their children every aspect of life. Doesn’t make them a very good parent in my opinion.
