Over 30 Rides Were CLOSED Yesterday in Disney World

Sometimes things just don’t go according to plan in Disney World.

Maybe you don’t get that advance dining reservation you really wanted (and the Mobile Dine Walk-Up Waitlist is full). Maybe the weather delayed or canceled a parade or fireworks. Or maybe even your favorite ride is closed — and if you visited Disney World yesterday, that very well may have been the case.

On May 11th, 31 rides were closed at one time or another in Disney World. Yes, that seems excessive, but sometimes it happens. Part of the problem was bad weather — when bad weather moves into the Orlando area, most of Disney World’s outdoor rides will close.

The rest of the closures are just the usual kind of closures that happen. These are noted in the My Disney Experience app when they do close, plus you’ll be able to check the app for when those rides reopen. So if a ride you’re wanting to get on closes, you can keep checking the app to see when it reopens.

Basically, when you visit Disney World, our best rule of thumb is to tell you to be flexible and patient. Your plan may get interrupted by ride closures, but if you can come up with something else to do (and there’s SO much to Disney World that isn’t rides), you can keep yourself and your party entertained. Who knows? You may even find your next new favorite activity in Disney World.
